FITCHBURG, MA – IC Credit Union has donated $12,380 to the Spanish American Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Hispanic and immigrant communities in North Central Massachusetts. This donation will support housing assistance, educational programs, and the Center’s food pantry, ensuring families in need can access these vital resources.
Serving the community for over 50 years, the Spanish American Center plays a key role in helping families access essential resources, including shelter, healthcare, and employment assistance. The funds will directly support these services, ensuring that more families in need can receive comprehensive care and guidance. This donation comes just at the end of Hispanic Heritage Month – a month-long celebration of Hispanic and Latino history and culture.
“At IC Credit Union, we are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve, and the Spanish American Center plays a crucial role in supporting countless families,” said Christopher P. Hendry, President, and CEO of IC Credit Union. “Their programs provide meaningful assistance when it’s needed most, and we’re honored to support an organization that makes such a positive impact on the lives of so many.”
The donation includes $2,380 raised by IC team members through their Jeans for Charity program, where employees contribute part of their paycheck to support local causes. IC Credit Union matches these donations to maximize their effect.
Neddy Latimer, Executive Director of the Spanish American Center, expressed her gratitude, stating, “This generous donation from IC Credit Union will allow us to continue serving families who are struggling. Whether it is providing food, housing support, or education, this contribution will help us deliver the services that people depend on. We are truly thankful for their partnership.”
With the support of IC Credit Union and other community partners, the Spanish American Center will continue to provide essential assistance to families in North Central Massachusetts, helping them overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
