Fitchburg, MA – November 7, 2022 – IC Credit Union President & CEO, Christopher Hendry, was recently named CEO of the Year by the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA). Hendry was one of two CEOs to receive the award, joining Mark Cochran, President & CEO of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union in Lowell.
“We are extremely proud of Chris for receiving this honor,” commented Norman Gariepy, Chairman of the IC Credit Union Board of Directors. “Since he became President and CEO in February 2021, Chris has made significant changes to the credit union, unifying the team to strengthen our core commitment of doing what’s in the best interest of our 35,000 members each and every day. Recognizing him so early in his tenure is a tribute to his leadership. We’re thrilled to hear that the CCUA recognized the work Chris has been doing and the impact he’s had on the credit union, our team and our members.”
Hendry was recognized at the CCUA’s Annual Awards of Excellence in October at Mohegan Sun in Montville, Connecticut. The ceremony honors the people who make a difference by their personal embrace of the credit union system and its values and principles.
Prior to joining IC, Hendry worked in leadership positions for UMass Memorial Health-Alliance Clinton Hospital and Fitchburg State University. He has been committed to the North Central Massachusetts community for more than 20-years, supporting a number of local non-profits including The Fitchburg Art Museum, the Boys and Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster, NewVue Communities and the Arc of Opportunity.
